Fort Mudge Memorial Dump - Fort Mudge Memorial Dump. CD.
(Label: Arkarma, Cat.No: AK385)

Click for large image Fort Mudge Memorial Dump was a band from Walpole, Massachusetts, that started playing by 1969, gathering a good number of fans. They got filed into the 'Boston Sound', among the Ultimate Spinach, the Beacon Street Union, Orpheus, Tangerine Zoo, ecc. With good technique and better ideas, they recorded a very sought-after LP in which the voice of Caroline Stratton stands out to some Jefferson Airplane affinity. Guitarist Dean Keady, with his jazzy effects, leads the band. This is a very much anticipated release and a sure buy for all collectors.

Les Rallizes Denuds - Yodo Go A Go Go (AKA Flightless Bird). CD.
(Label: , Cat.No: 10THAVCD3)

Click for large image Seemingly endless sonic flame-throwers of phased white noise streak across your inner landscape, as stupidly loud and overly-backlit lead guitar emissions perpetrated by a perpetually be-shaded longhair pummel the similarly be-shaded but barely adequate musical backing that sags and creaks under the wattage. Occasionally, lead vocals of a singular variety are provided by said be-shaded mad axeman, whose paranoid personality ensures all songs are delivered in a voice of querulous subterranean gargling from beyond the valley of Alan Vega. My giddy aunt, whats this, then, a Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy from the Underworld? A rough guide to Japrocks most intuitive non-career movers? Has the worlds most revolutionary rocknroll band released a compilation album of leader Mizutanis most frequently requested tracks due to overwhelming popular demand? Ja, mein hairies, this certainly seems to be the case. For, with the arrival of this superb Flightless Bird compilation, obsessive fans of Les Rallizes Denuds (are there any other kinds?) finally have a proper early career overview of Mizutani & Co. at their fingertips, a 70-minute-long super distillation of this most contrary of bands choicest musical moves executed between 1967-82, a superb sounding and partly/mostly chronological trawl through the freaked out and perpetually-yelping mindscape of singer and avant-avalanche guitarmonger Mizutani, and his sinister-yet-interchangeable pool of black clad world-to-rights acolytes."

Mountain - Masters Of War. CD.
(Label: Megaforce, Cat.No: MTN001)

Click for large image “Over the last 4 decades, this is a unique departure for Mountain and with that departure we have arrived, (along with the help, of Ozzy Osbourne and Warren Haynes) at a wonderful cross road... MOUNTAIN & DYLAN.This CD is Bob Dylan songs! Yeah Bob Dylan. It may sound strange why Mountain or I would attempt this, but I already did in 1969 On my first solo record, Leslie West "Mountain" I got the idea in Europe

Pyg - Pyg. CD.
(Label: footprint, Cat.No: FPR 29019)

Click for large image Pyg was formed in 1971, as a super group, by former Tigers vocalist Kenji ‘Julie’ Sawada. Made up of Sawada and former Tigers drummer Hiroshi Oguchi, plus ex-members of Group Sounds bands The Spiders and The Tempters

Hawkwind - Hawkwind. LP.
(Label: , Cat.No: SLS50374)

Click for large image Limited vinyl re-issue of the legendary debut album from 1970 that not only includes the timeless "Hurry On Sundown" but also lengthy space rock classics such as "Mirror Of Illusion" and "Seeing It As You Really Are"

Flower Travellin' Band - Satori (Mini Card Sleeve). CD.
(Label: pheonix, Cat.No: ASH3002)

Click for large image Limited Edition card gatefold Sleeve·1,000 numbered copies only version of quite possibly the best Japanese '70s psych band. This is their killer album. Imagine Country Joe And The Fish or Quicksilver with a traditional Japanese influence. THE MOST AMAZING spiralling flanged acid guitar solos interweave around perfumed fragile vocal chants as you are transported back to ancient Japan in a ship made of hallucinatory lotus blossoms.

Johnny Winter - Live Bootleg Series Volume One. CD.
(Label: , Cat.No: FRM1064)

Click for large image The first volume of official bootlegs. This is a collection of Johnny's classic performances from the 70's featuring bassist Jon Paris and drummer Bobby T, his power trio at the time. Includes: "A Little Rock n Roll", "Johnny B. Goode", "It's All Over Now", "Jumpin' Jack Flash", Hide Away", "Rollin' and Tumblin'" and "Stranger."

LSD March - Constellation Of Tragedy. CD.
(Label: Important Records, Cat.No: IMPREC164)

Click for large image One of the most interesting and appealing psychedelic bands currently working in Japan, and that's saying a lot when you realise that Japan has cultivated one of the most progressive and diverse psychedelic scenes in existence! This is their sixthfull length release, their most well recorded and refined album to date.

Jefferson Airplane - At The Family Dog Ballroom. CD.
(Label: Snapper, Cat.No: SNAP293CD)

Click for large image Recorded this time at the famous San Franciscan venue in September 1969 when the group was at the peak of its considerable power. Only recently unearthed from the archives, this release is sure to be most welcomed by all fans of prime West Coast psychedelia and it comes from one of the genres finest exponents. An inspired performance by the classic group line-up of Paul Kantner (guitar, vocals), Grace Slick (vocals), Marty Balin (vocals), Jorma (lead guitar, vocal), Jack Casady (bass) and Spencer Dryden (drums). For the closing 26-minute ‘Jam’ they are joined by the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia, whose distinctive guitar sound adds a new and unique dimension to the group’s sound. ‘Come Back Baby’, never recorded by the group in the studio, features a rare lead vocal from Jorma Kaukonen. Old favourites include ‘Crown Of Creation" and 'Somebody To Love', along with five new numbers from their forthcoming studio album ‘Volunteers’ making this a must-have release for fans. Taken from the best available audio sources, these superb performances have been meticulously restored for this release - not previously available on CD before.

Poopik/Jericho / Churchills. - Everybody. CD.
(Label: , Cat.No: 4190-2)

Click for large image "Poopik" is known as an excentric actor and musician from the 60's Israel outsider culture scene. He released his sole outfit in a rare LP released in 1970. His backing group here are the Churchill's and they wrote some of the tracks, including 2 Hebrew versions for their singles, one is taken from their S/T from 1969 and another from the Jericho from their LP Junkies monkies and Donkies from 1971, both tracks sung by Poopik. This is a great psych-pop from the 60's-70's, will appeal to Churchill's fans.

Principal Edwards Magic Theatre - Devon Tapes. CD.
(Label: Audio Archives, Cat.No: AACD 053)

Click for large image A fascinating recent discovery of an unreleased fourth album by this ensemble of avant-garde graduates who were championed by John Peel, whose famous Dandelion label released their first two LPs.These recordings were made in 1974 soon after their third album ‘Round One’ was issued on the Deram label. By then they had become a more progressive orientated band compared with their earlier folk-rock leanings. These 9 songs feature twin keyboard players with lavish mini-moog work-outs, reminiscent of Manfred Mann’s Earthband at times, with opening track ‘The Beast’ and centrepiece ‘Helix’, perfect examples. The six-piece line-up features several original members of the earlier incarnation of the group including guitarist and mainman Root Cartwright and the haunting vocals of Belinda Bourquin, who also plays some superb violin as well as keyboards.Another track worthy of special mention here is a song called ‘Over And Out’ which was earmarked for a single. This beautifully haunting song is a dead-ringer of Mellow Candle’s ‘Swaddling Songs’ style, in fact you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Bevis Frond - Sprawl. Dble LP.
(Label: Woronzow Records, Cat.No: W0022)

Click for large image We have found 1 copy of this long deleted Woronzow double LP/gatefold sleeve..A couple of marks on side 3 but this does not detract from the sound at all, otherwise an excellent copy of this album.Hence cheaper price.Tracklist: 01. I know we're going - 6:13 02. Awake! - 11:45 03. Love You More - 4:26 04. The Puller - 8:53 05. Oh Gideon 6:47 06. Right on (Hippie Dream) - 21:01 07. I bought my love a lapdog - 7:02 08. New Alexandria - 4:32 09. Anodyne/See you - 6:16 'Sprawl' shows what Nick can do when jamming. Nick Saloman - All instruments & vocals except:Andy Ward - drumsJimmy Hastings - flute (on 6)Tony Aldridge - violin (on 4, 6)

Rockin' Foo - Rockin' Foo. CD.
(Label: Second Harvest, Cat.No: 404)

Click for large image Unfortunately Fuzz Acid and Flowers got it completely wrong on this album (unless they were listening to the wrong record!) Far from average this is a bit of an undiscovered gem. Originally released on Hobbit (Sapphire Thinkers) in 1969 it’s a highly original blend of West Coast laid back psychy garage country rock with lashings of harmony. A highly polished production with sparse instrumentation (keyboards, guitars and multi part harmonies) the whole thing hangs together with a very laid back groove. A great example of Rural Psych Rock without all of the usual Grateful Dead/Eagles cliches. Flashes of Mandrake Memorial, Beach Boys, Creedence and Quicksilver Messenger Service make this a really worthwhile album that's highly recommended for those who thought they'd heard it all. Housed in a digipack sleeve.

Man - Live At The Roundhouse. DVD.
(Label: Voiceprint, Cat.No: VPDVD 36)

Click for large image Live performance filmed at the Roundhouse in 1976, this DVD features highlights from their three day tenure plus interviews with the band, their manager and even the hard working put upon road crew. The band are in top form but lets face it when were they not in top form? In addition to the informative and hugely enlightening interviews the band perform some classic Man material including: "Born With A Future", "Bananas" and "Babe Im Gonna Leave You." This fascinating documentary has rarely been seen since the original film was broadcast in the late seventies and as such will be highly anticipated by the large and devoted fan base still commanded by Man and as such gives a great insight into what the band were all about during their seventies heyday. DVD, Region: 0 Ratio: 4:3 Sound
