Klaatu - Hope. LP. (Justin - JEM 13) Second album by this Canadian '70s band who mixed psychedelic, orchestrated Beatles-like pop with progressive sounds. Their debut album sold over a million copies due to a rumour that it was the Beatles in disguise! If you like The Millenium and Saggitarius then there are parts of this album that are as good as anything they did, particularly the haunting "So Said The Lighthouse Keeper" and the tear jerking title track "Hope". Magic Stuff!

Klaatu - Klaatu/Hope. CD. (B.G.O. Records - BGOCD518) Once named "Hype of the year" by Rolling Stone, in 1977 this anonymous Canadian band created some beautifully baroque tinged psych / prog that fooled many people into thinking they were the Beatles. Here are the 1st and 2nd album on one disc If you like The Millenium and Saggitarius then there are parts of these albums that are as good as anything they did, particularly the trippy "Doctor Marvello" the haunting "So Said The Lighthouse Keeper" and the tear jerking "Hope". Magic Stuff!

Klaatu - Magentalane. CD. (Si Wan - SRMC 4046) Often thought to have been the Beatles under a pseudonym, this Canadian band could also have been mistaken for the psychedelic Beach Boys. This 1981 album is their swansong full of shimmering, perfectly produced vocal harmonies, electric melodies and lush orchestration. A forgotten masterpiece that adds to the sense of wonder and mystery that has always shrouded Klaatu's music.

Klaatu - Sir Army Suit/Endangered Species. CD. (B.G.O. Records - BGOCD623) 3rd & 4th albums from 1978 & 1980 remastered.The first contains some nifty pop numbers very much in the faux Beatles psychy pop/prog style of the first albums, whilst the second contains more soft psychedelic pop and a great stab at the record company number "Sell Out, Sell Out".

Klaatu - Sun Set 1973 - 1981. Dble CD. (Bullseye - BLRCD 2515) Thirty eight rare tracks and all of the groups singles between '73 and '81 are included on this double CD set. The album is made up of demos, outtakes and live tracks from their five albums of the period. Packaged in a slip case with a forty page book written and compiled by the band members. Also features mini booklet containing the entire Klaatu story written by band manager Frank Davies.
