Korgis - Don't Look Back- Very Best Of The Korgis. Dble CD. (Castle - CMDDD673)

How did two members from early 70s oddballs Stackridge turn into skinny-tied early 80s popmeisters? By embracing the future, and the technology that went with it, and writing songs as irresistible as ‘Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime’. The original hit joins a more recent DNA remix and 33 other pop gems on this best-ever Korgis retrospective.

Korgis - The Korgis Kollection. CD. (Angel Air - SJPCD204)

They say that behind every new wave/post punk act there's a prog past, and the Korgis are living proof. Formed out of the ashes of Bath loonies Stackridge by founders/songwriters Andy Davis and James Warren and drummer John Baker, the new act's style veered close to the intelligent "skinny tie" power-pop-punk peddled by the likes of Squeeze, XTC, Bram Tchaikovsky, the Jags and of course Elvis Costello, but with the dreamy Beatlesque edge the later Stackridge albums had aspired to. However, they achived the one thing their father band never did- hit singles. "If I Had You" and "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime" (the latter covered by, well, everyone) both hit the top 20 in 1979/80 and are included here on CD alongside choice cuts from their three albums, unheard rarities and new material, selected by the band themselves.

Korgis - Unplugged. CD. (Angel Air - SJPCD213)

The Korgis' roots go back to the late 70’s and Stackridge but over the past 25 years the band has enjoyed significant worldwide commercial success with hits such as "Everybody’s Got To LearnSometime" and "If I Had You".This album was recorded in the summer of last year for a film shoot and the harmonies and playing are breathtaking.
