Lady June - Linguistic Leprosy. CD. (Market Square - MSMCD144) This slice of cult Canterbury Scene pop psych first came out in 1974. Led by Lady June, it features Pip Pyle, Brian Eno and Kevin Ayers as guest performers, Ayers also contributes songs and prouction duties. The basis of this album came from June's lively performances of her poetry in Amsterdam and her trip to the hippy scene in Mallorca. Here she met Ayers and an album of eccentric, original songs and acoustic soundscapes followed. This is a brilliant, timeless album filled with a true sense of invention.
