Lamont Dozier - Bigger Than Life. CD. (Castle - CMRCD279)

The genius behind dozens of soul classics on Motown and Invictus was at full power on this elegant 1983 album, originally made for his own Megaphone label. Digitally remastered from the original tapes with his own involvement, this long-lost gen proves how easily Dozier was able to adapt his trademark sound to the demands of a new era.

Lamont Dozier - Bittersweet. CD. (Castle - CMRCD218)

Bittersweet was Lamont's last album for Warners, issued in 1979. Produced by ex-Motown buddy Frank Wilson, the album led off with the UK club hit, 'Boogie Business' (his closest flirtation with disco). Other highlights include the soulful 'True Love Is Bittersweet', 'Tough Act To Follow' and 'Love Me To The Max'.

Lamont Dozier - Going Back To My Roots (The Anthology). Dble CD. (Castle - CMEDD053)

Dozier was famously one third of Holland, Dozier, Holland, the legendary songwriting trio behind so many soul classics at Motown in the 1960's and Invictus in the early 1970s. Lamont's own recordings at the latter kickstart this first-ever anthology of his solo work, which runs through his in-demand 70s albums and beyond. Most of this music has never been on CD before.

Lamont Dozier - Lamont. CD. (Castle - CMRCD219)

Lamont from 1981 was his one-and-only album for Los Angeles' M&M Records. It was self-produced, with arrangements from McKinley Jackson, who had worked with Lamont back in the Invictus days of the early 70s. Highlights include the US R&B hit, 'Shout About It', plus the two-step club favourite, 'I Ain't Playing', and the beautiful 'You Oughta Be In Pictures'.
