Lard Free - Gilbert Artman's Lard Free. CD. (Spalax - 14225)

From 1973, this French group led by Gilbert Artman, sound like Roger Fripp jamming with the Soft Machine, against sparse Neu-like rhythms. Six long mellow tracks, blending sax, synth, and bursts of off-the wall ragged guitar. Great!!.

Lard Free - III - Spirale Malax. CD. (Spalax - 14224)

This French acts 1977 album, is rightly regarded as a masterpiece of Kraut/space rock, with the 17 min title track of undulating synths being a real brain-destroying headphone trip! On a par with the best mid-70s Tangerine Dream instrumental mind excursions.

Lard Free - I'm Around About Midnight. CD. (Spalax - 14221)

Heavily influenced by the Kraut rock scene, this French band excelled at creating dark dreamscapes with occasional, but effective use of guitar. Their 2nd album from 1975, saw Gilbert Artmann move to a fuller, more electronic sound, with the six instrumental tracks interlocking into a sonic jigsaw.
