Leaf Hound - Growers Of Mushroom. LP. (Akarma - AK 256)

This really is a classic slice of UK rock in a Zeppelinesque style from 1971, with a dual guitar attack over the vocals of Pete French (Brunning Sunflower Band, Atomic Rooster, Cactus etc). Hard blues based rhythms and long tracks make this a winner from start to finish. Comes in a beautiful psychedelic gatefold sleeve featuring the British artwork (the German cover is shown inside the gatefold) plus and a re-print of the poster. 180 gram vinyl and thick card sleeve.

Leaf Hound - Freelance Fiend/Too Many Rock & Roll Times. 7". (Rise Above Records - RISE768)

In early 2004, aware of the growing cult status the music of Leaf Hound had achieved, frontman Pete French was persuaded to get a new version of the band together. Following a chance meeting with drummer and self-confessed Leaf Hound fanatic Jimmy Rowland, a new band was assembled - a lineup that in some peoples' minds has now actually surpassed the original, and brings the Leaf Hound sound up to date for the stoner rock generation without losing any of its heavy psychedelic blues traditions. Of these tracks - 'Too Many Rock & Roll Times' is a brand new number B/W with a new version of the 'Hound classic 'Freelance Fend' very limited edition 7" of this lost gem. Both tracks were recorded live on September 21st 2005 : The Borderline in London, England. Now deleted these are the last few copies.
