Leaves - ...are Happening - Best Of The Leaves. CD. (Sundazed - SC 11058) Twenty tracks chronicling the entire recording output on the Mira label, being the debut album and all the singles recorded between 1965/6. The massive hit "Hey Joe" is of course included here, together with songs by Bob Dylan, John Loudermilk and Boyce and Hart. Jim Pons went off to join the Turtles after this, and later was a Zappa sideman, but this nifty collection does the Leaves own particular brand of snotty garage frat rock proud.

Leaves - All The Good That's Happening. CD. (One Way Records - S21-17632) Best known for their US hit version of "Hey Joe", this American band had a lot more strings to their bow, as this accomplished second album from 1967 proves. Summery psychedelia in the style of Youngbloods or Buffalo Springfield, stand-out tracks include "Lemon Princess" and "Twilight Sanctuary". Jim Pons later joined Frank Zappa.
