This beautiful collection contains studio and live material which has been re-mastered and contains excellent liner notes in the detailed booklet.This CD makes a great introduction to this classic UK act.

Lindisfarne - BT3 1969-2000. CD. (Siren - SRNA202CD) This excellent CD contains rare and unreleased tracks from the Lindidfarne archives and includes tracks recorded as far back as 1969 when they were called Brethren, a unique 1974 recording of Rod Clements and Mark Knopfler and more. Lindisfarne - Dingly Dell (remastered). CD. (Charisma - CASCDR1057) Third album from 1972 by the great UK folk rock/pop hippy band who created three albums in the early '70's all brimming with fabulous care free melodies and heart-felt, anti-establishment sentiment. This is perhaps the more serious of the three albums with Alan Hull's song writing at it's most biting and incisive. "All Fall Down" is probably the most English environmental song ever written guaranteed to bring a tear to the eye, whilst "Wake up Little Sister" is just sheer beautiful pop folk. Wonderful. First time on CD with a bonus track.

"Meet Me On The Corner" remains one of the most innocent drug songs ever written, whilst beautifully crafted tunes such as "January Song" "Together Forever" and of course "Fog On The Tyne" are upbeat and carefee gems. A classic.

Full christmas concert from 1982 that contains 16 live tracks including "Lady Eleanor","Meet Me on the Corner","Fog On The Tyne","Stormy Weather" and more all in excellent sound quality. Also included is a 7 track bonus CD of solo acoustic session tracks by Alan Hull from radio Clyde, recorded between1976 & 78 and including "Squire"," Picture Little Girl ","Dan the Plan" and more. Brilliant stuff.

Lindisfarne - Roll On Ruby. CD. (EMI - CASCD1076) 1973- released album by the Mark 2 line-up of this highly popular Geordie combo, an album underrated at the time and often ignored due to the dearth of original members involved, but due a re-evaluation. Here Alan Hull and Ray Jackson are joined by Ken Craddock, Tom Duffy, Charlie Harcourt and Paul Nichols. Not the most famous era of the band's history but worth investigating anyway.

(EMI/Virgin - CDV3009) Career-spanning 19-track compilation from the late Alan Hull and Co, including all the hits ('Lady Eleanor' 'Fog On The Tyne' 'Meet Me On The Corner' 'Run For Home') and a lot more. Howay the lads, haddaway and ashite, divven't howk yer snek etc. And divven't gan doon the shops and buy this, though but! It's cheapa at the Freak Emporium, y'naaa!! If I've telt yers before, I've telt yer a thoosand times. . .

Lindisfarne - Very Best Of. CD. (Emi Gold - 5925852) This is the previously available "Best Of" + 4 extra tracks, including 2 unreleased songs written by the late Alan Hull and recorded by the original line-up in the early '80s - 'Everybody Say Yeah' & 'Love In A Cage'. Among the 20 tracks on offer are the hits 'Meet Me On The Corner', 'Lady Eleanor', 'All Fall Down' & 'Fog On The Tyne' along with some classic album tracks, many of which are still performed live to this day. Most cuts are culled from first three brilliant albums by this great UK folk rock band.

Lindisfarne - Meet Me On The Corner. 3-CD Box Set. (Sanctuary Midline - SMETD344) A unique three-CD set anthologising the entire repertoire of this still underrated and underappreciated band, who blended the songcraft of the Beatles with the folk traditions tapped into by Fairport and Sweeney's Men. Although by no means the highpoint of their careers (there is still nothing to top the first three albums) the later releases such as 'Back And Fourth' 'Dance Your Life Away' Amigos' and 'Elvis Lives On The Moon' all include a fair amount of hidden treasures- even if the band was leaning too far towards comedy in places by this stage. Disc 3, however, features the entirety of the great live album 'Magic In The Air'- and what a performance THAT is!! Compiled with notes by David Wells.
