This is the first time that his pre-Specialty material has appeared on CD, and hearing it here makes for a strange and rewarding experience. The real bonus, apart from the packaging and notation from 1950s expert Dave Penny, is the inclusion of three tracks featuring our Richie backing blues'n'gospel howler Christine Kittrell, which have been unavailable for nearly 50 years. This rare album was recorded by the rock n roll legend for the Okeh label in 1968. The eleven track original LP is sought after by Nothern Soul ethusiasts and has been expanded with six bonus numbers, including Richard's version of "Hound Dog" and "Get Down With It" (later made famous by Slade) recorded by Norman Smith at Abbey Road.
