(MRD - MRD2006) Great 2 fer from the Chilean outfit that has their 1977 release 'Cancion Del Sure' which beautifully fuses musical elements which melt and blend as previous releases.The opening cut "La Vida Magica Ay Si" is heavy progressive folk rock while "Dum Dum Tambora" was developed on an Uruguyan poem and has a tremendous acoustic folk sound.The second album on the disc is 'Aconcagua' from 1982 and contains more traditional folk tunes with a rock flavour Both albums are characterized by an original fusion of progressive rock with Andean music. A musical landmark of the Chilean Generation.

Los Jaivas - El Volantin. LP. (Shadoks Music - 070) Limited vinyl pressing (heavy vinyl thick card sleeve) re-issue of the 1971 debut album by these Chilean folk-rockers. Combining electric and acoustic Chilean instruments this group created a hybrid form of progressive folk/rock that was enormously successful in Argentina in the 1970s. Easily the most reknowned Chilean band in the world (and one of the most revered South American bands) Los Jaivas presented the world with an adventurous and progressive strain of folk music, and it started right here with their debut. 350 numbered, heavy vinyl, laminated heavy cover.
