Featuring Nick Holland on keyboards, Troy Donockley on guitars and wind instruments and Terl Bryant this is reminiscent in places of Davy Spillane (featured instruments include the Uillean pipes) but all else is overshadowed by that voice. A real treasure and a must for anyone interested in English folk music.

Maddy Prior - Woman In The Wings. CD. (B.G.O. Records - CD215) Debut 1978 solo album originally released on Chrysalis records from Steeleeye Span's vocalist. Excellent UK folk performed with impecible style by Maddy. Produced by Tull's Ian Anderson.

Maddy Prior - Collections Very Best Of 1995-2005. Dble CD. Over a remarkable career spanning over 4 decades, Maddy Prior MBE has become widely recognised as the voice of English folk music.It is ten years ago that Maddy Prior released her first "Best Of": 1995's Memento, a collection of her early solo work. Given the rate of Maddy's output of recorded work- a new release more or less every year- another collection such as this is long overdue. After forty years in the business, many might be tempted to rest on their laurels. But if anything, Maddy has thrown herself into her work with even more vigour. And in particular, the past ten years have proved to be the most fruitful of Maddy's career as a solo artist, as she has continued to re-affirm her status not only as one of the foremost interpreters of traditional song, but also as an increasingly original and adventurous writer. And it is these two parallel strands of Maddy's solo work that this collection explores.
