Recording this special performance in the afternoon before their evening performance at London’s Hammersmith Odon, this release was made possible by the courtesy of the BBC who have preserved countless such recordings from the past, never knowing how important they would one day become.

Born out of passionate listening and a shared love of Coltrane, Krautrock, Space rock, rock in general as well as the many and varied eccentricities of English Psychedelia this is a spacey trippy excursion in sound . Housed in a replica mini LP gatefold sleeve with other-worldly artwork From Above is one of the best instrumental psych/space rock albums we have heard for some time. Treatment were easily the most psychedelic UK band of the 1980s and this CD is a welcome addition to their small but perfectly formed legacy.

Hitchcock's first solo release, Black Snake Diamond Role was recorded during the final days of his influential post-punk combo the Soft Boys (it even features the other three members of the group: Boys Kimberly Rew, Matthew Seligman and Morris Windsor). Originally released in 1981, this star studded release also features the Vibrators guitarist Knox, Psychedelic Furs drummer Vince Ely and soon-to-be synth-pop star Thomas Dolby. The original ten track album has been expanded with eight bonus cuts (alternative versions and demos from the same session).
