Click for large image The first UK reissue of this ultra rare recording of one of the outstanding alternative bands of the 1980's - the late Jeffrey Lee Pierce's The Gun Club. Originally released in 1993, the album features 14 live tracks spanning all their studio albums and 2 bonus tracks: the previously unreleashed demo versions of 'Humanesque' and 'Pastoral Hide And Seek'. Booklet includes a page from Jeffrey's currently unavailable autobiography "Go Tell Me A Mountain" talking about his time in the UK, a discography of the band's recording career and relfections by Jeffrey's sister Jacqui.

Click for large image A first time CD collection of 1950s hits and rarities by one of the masters of R&B! These twenty nine tracks represent an almost forgotten giant, with a decade of solid hits to his name. He became one of the leading performers on the Central Avenue scene after some intermittent chart success in the late 40's. Among his best known songs was 'One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer' and in 1950 Milburn's 'Bad, Bad, Whiskey' reached the top of the R&B charts and began a string of drinking songs. Booklet features rare memorabilia and extensive liner notes.

Click for large image Known as Piano Red due to his albino skin pigmentation and raucous playing style for most of his performing life, Willie Perryman was also known as Doctor Feelgood! This master of Rhthm and Blues was a huge hit in 50's America, scoring a high number of chart hits. They are featured here alongside a number of rarities from the era and six bonus live cuts from 1956. Thirty tracks in all, this is Piano Red's first CD apearance. Booklet comes with rare memorabilia and extensive liner notes.

This lost 1967 popsike classic features immaculate support from the team responsible for the landmark Millennium and Sagittarius LPs, as well as members of the Goldebriars and Goldenrod. Never previously available on CD, Phantasy is a must-have for all fans of adventurous pop and sunshine psychedelia.

Click for large image Recorded live in Paris, France and Toronto, Canada in 1976-1977.Though not exactly in league with one of rock's all-time great live sets, 1969's ,'Get Yer Ya's Ya's Out', this still contains many highlights, such as the funky "Hot Stuff," the Richards-sung "Happy," several blues covers that kick off disc two ("Mannish Boy," Chuck Berry's "Around and Around," etc.) and an awesome, album-closing triple punch of "Brown Sugar," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and "Sympathy for the Devil."Still cool after all these years.

Click for large image First ever CD collection of the finest work of this Nashville sessioner legend, thirty two of his greatest riffs backing artists such as Little Jimmy Dickens, Johnny Burnette, Red Foley, Buddy Holly, Cecil Gant and many more. The man who played the memorable riff on Roy Orbison's "Oh Pretty Woman" and besides Chet Atkins, the only studio musician to have recorded with both Hank Williams and Elvis Presley, Martin was responsible for the early use of distortion on record thanks to a blown amp tube on Marty Robbins's 1960 hit "Don't Worry" that the producer decided to leave on. Martin was one of Nashville's original "A-Team" session players and he often credited as a the session leader by the appreciative producers, they knew they had someone really special.

Features tracks by Rhythm Masters, The Cords, Impacts, Wes Dakus' Rebels, The Impact V and many more. The packed booklet goes into depth about these recordings, the bands that cut them, and Petty’s world-renowned production techniques. Alvin Lee - Saguitar. CD.

Click for large image After decades on the road with Ten Years After and the Alvin Lee Band, the guitarist now prefers to play a mere handful of concerts and festivals between album projects. Saguitar is two years in the making, named in honour of his star sign Sagittarius and his outgoing personality. This fourteen tracker is a celebration of "the sheer fun of making music" a features his trademark axe work and some bluesy vocals. Guest musicians include Tim Hinkley from Jody Grind. Digi pack.

Smiley Lewis - Mama Don't Like It! 1950 - 56. CD.

Click for large image On the same label at the same time as Fats Domino, Smiley Lewis is perhaps the best / most unappreciated rhythm and blues singer of the era. From day one the man had hit 45s on Imperial Records, occasionally backed by such highly regarded players as Huey Smith, saxists Lee Allen, Clarence Hall, and Herb Hardesty. His best known track must be the blistering "Shame, Shame, Shame" which featured on the soundtrack to the controversial Hollywood film Baby Doll. Thirty three tracks, all remastered and packaged with rare memorabilia and detailed notes. Some of the best 1950's New Orleans rockin' R&B around.

Little Richard - Explosive Little Richard, Plus. CD.

Click for large image This rare album was recorded by the rock n roll legend for the Okeh label in 1968. The eleven track original LP is sought after by Nothern Soul ethusiasts and has been expanded with six bonus numbers, including Richard's version of "Hound Dog" and "Get Down With It" (later made famous by Slade) recorded by Norman Smith at Abbey Road.
