One of the heaviest and loudest U.S guitar bands of the early seventies, Mountain are your very own sleighride to hard rock heaven. Starring Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi and Corky Laing the Mountain line-up is enough to cause a bloodclot in the wrong mind. Featuring the epic title track about 19th century whale hunters the album is an awesome crossover of US West Coast styled rock and more complex progressive sounds. This great looking digipack reissue CD also features 3 bonus tracks & expanded booklet
Easily the best Mountain album from 1971 and the one that made them famous. Featuring the epic title track about 19th century whale hunters the album is an awesome crossover of US West Coast styled rock and more complex progressive sounds. With the searing lead guitar of Leslie West and the thundering fuzz bass of Felix Pappalardi it's atmosphere power all the way. Now digitally remastered with expanded booklet. Great!
Celebrating their 33 1/3 Anniversary, Leslie West and Corky Laing have put their solo careers on hold and re-formed the legendary rock group Mountain. With offers for tour dates for the reunited band flying in from all over the world, Leslie and Corky decided to ignite the worldwide tour with their first new studio album in years.'Mountain High' may be the most coherent Mountain album we’ve ever made, said West, and it’s certainly one of the best. It sounds like a Mountain album is supposed to sound!
1972 marathon live show, includes 18 minutes of "Nantucket Sleighride." Live performances were where Mountain always shone, and this document of long jamming and improvising is quite magnificent. This album is the best example of Mountain live. Tracks: Long Red; Waiting To Take You Away; Crossroader; Nantucket Sleighride.
Live recording unearthed from mid-period lineup of the band when West, Laing and Pappalardi had been joined by rhythm guitarist David Perry, who replaced outgoing keyboardist Steve Knight. Obviously recorded during the festive season, as a version of 'Jingle Bells'(!!) graces us with its presence, Leslie and the chaps are in fine fettle as they tear through the usuals such as 'Mississippi Queen' 'Nantucket Sleighride' 'Never In My Life' and 'Theme From An Imaginary Western' plus some rock and roll standards to boot. To be played very loud indeed.
Captured during the bands 2005 world tour where Leslie West and Corky Laing are joined by Richie Scarlet. Includes material from the key stages of the band's development including a section of the show where the band pay a homage to Cream by playing "Sunshine of Your Love","Politician" and "Crossroads". Also included are storming versions of "Blood of the Sun","Never in my Life","Mississippi Queen","Nantucket Sleighride" and more.16 tracks in total.NTSC Region 0 disc.
Direct from Leslie West and Corky Lang's private tape collection comes this recording of Mountain Live at the Fillmore East in December of 1970. 1971 hard rock classic from these US heavyweights. Great guitar wokouts on tracks "Flowers Of Evil", "King's Chorale", "Pride And Passion" and Leslie West's great guitar epic. "Dream Sequence". Part live and part studio this was prime Mountain and the last album by the original line up. Remastered from original tapes
Fiery and bludgeoningly heavy set capturing two different lineups of Mountain in all their glory- the first from 1985 with West and Laing accompanied by former Uriah Heep fourstringer Mark Clarke, the second from 2003 , by which time the position had been admirably filled by ex-Frehley's Comet duuuuuuuude Richie Scarlett. All the hits are included, as usual, plus a few tracks played less often which will surprise the listener.
Digi pack remastered CD of the 1970 release from Mountain and was the album that bore the hit "Mississippi Queen"and stage favourites,"Theme For An Imaginary Western", "Boys in the Band" and more. Continuing this great collection of Live Mountain performances here is a show from 1974 the period when the band had re-formed and the core trio of Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi and Corky Lang reunited for a series of successful dates and a great album called "Avalanche". The re-union was unfortunately short lived which makes the recordings on this disc all the more precious.
Another great addition to the Mountain Ofiicial Live Bootleg Series. This time the performance comes from inside the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey on New Years Eve 1973 and features a newly reformed Mountain. The band had originally split in 1972 when West and Laing went on to work with Jack Bruce for two albums. However, by the end of 1973 West, Pappalardi, Laing and Perry had reformed, this concert followed the recording of the official Twin Peaks live album and took place before their next studio album "Avalanche". This re-mastered release is an important document in the long history of Mountain.
First time release of this fantastic live performance from the still-hardcore-after-all-these-years Mountain. Volume 2 in the Bootleg Series presents a hard-rocking gig from 17th September 1997 featuring a guest appearance from The Who's John Entwhistle. This recording has been specially re-mastered (as all the great Official Bootlegs were) and was taken from the personal archives of Leslie West and Corky Laing. A great modern edition to a great new series and includes favorites like "Nantucket Sleighride", "Crossroader", "Mississippi Queen" and more.
Specially re-mastered album; the first in the Mountain Bootleg Series which aims to present previously unreleased performances from the long career of Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi's Mountain group. This first live album is sourced from late 1971 and displays the group in full rocking swing with corking versions of "Crossroader", "Mississippi Queen" ,"Nantucket Sleighride","Never In My Life" and more. This material, as with all the bootleg CDs, comes from the personal archives of both Leslie West and Corky Laing and is a historical document of great importance for all fans of hard rock.
Best of comp by the fantastic US heavy acid rock band from the late '60's early '70's who based their sound on Cream but frankly blew them away! Does everything it says on the tin and more including 'Mississippi Queen', 'Crossroader', 'Yasgur's Farm', 'Never in my Life', 'Nantucket Sleighride' and 7 more. Exact repro in the gatefold sleeve.
CD version of the 'Best' of this classic early 70s US heavy acid rock outfit. All the classics are here including "Mississippi Queen", "For Yasgur's Farm", Jack Bruce's "Theme For An Imaginary Western" and many more. CD version includes four bonus tracks and a twelve page booklet. One of the best US heavy rock bands of the '70's.
Number 7 in the Mountain 'Official Bootleg' series, featuring material from two gigs featuring the classic lineup (Leslie West, Corky Laing, Steve Knight and Felix Pappalardi) performed in 1969- the year the band made their name by melting people's heads at the Woodstock Festival. Most of their set from that now beyond-legendary day (during which they unveiled their dedication to the land's owner in 'For Yasgur's Farm') is included here, and essential Mountain headbangers such as 'Blood Of The Sun' 'Long Red' and 'Never In My Life' are featured here in all their specially mastered yet raw-as-fluck glory, and available here on CD (with deluxe artwork) for the first time.
Double live album on one CD recorded in Japan in 1973 by this rock outfit fronted by the mighty Leslie West. This is the definitive release, with "Nantucket Sleighride" taking up two whole sides of the original LP as well as "Mississippi Queen", "Roll Over Beethoven" and the Jack Bruce penned "Theme From An Imaginary Western". The exceptional official bootleg series of Mountain releases continues with this excellent show from Canada in 1970.First time on CD.Specially mastered for this release.
Another in the series of sledgehammer-heavy live recordings from West, Laing and Scarlett. Taken from Leslie and Corky's personal archives, and remestered for its first release.
Mountain on their first comeback trail, this time in 1981 as they toured America's arenas with a set of classics. Pretty much the same as all of their other live albums really. . .
Yet another Mountain live album!! Yippeee, just what the world wants. The offical schpiel states here that this is 'another outstanding release' from the' fantastic Mountain bootleg series, and a 'fine performance of the classics alongside new material' which will feature on the band's forthcomingstudio album due for release mid 2006. However, if you can tell it apart from any of their other recent live releases, you're a better man than me Gunga Din. Remastered for this reissue (like you give a damn ).
One of the many officially sanctioned Mountain bootlegs (this is volume 16!), this time from America. Part of the specially re-mastered series which aims to present previously unreleased performances from the long career of Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi's Mountain group. From their first re union tour, includes the classic tracks: "Nantucket Sleighride" and "Mississippi Queen"
Officially sanctioned Mountain bootlegs, this time from Europe. Part of the specially re-mastered series which aims to present previously unreleased performances from the long career of Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi's Mountain group.
This live CD was captured during the band's world tour in early 2005 and more than thirty five years into their career, Mountain show no sign of slowing down. The core duo of Leslie West and Corky Laing, are joined on this occasion by bassist Ritchie Scarlet, and, as befits a band of the stature of Mountain the performance captured here spans the band's career and includes material from most of the key stages in their development. The obvious Mountain calling cards are all in attendance including Theme For An Imaginary Western, Mississippi Queen and Never In My Life. There is also a tribute to Cream and a nod to Leslie West and Corky Laing's time working with Jack Bruce with the Cream song Politician that was a highlight of West Bruce and Laing's live concerts.
“Over the last 4 decades, this is a unique departure for Mountain and with that departure we have arrived, (along with the help, of Ozzy Osbourne and Warren Haynes) at a wonderful cross road... MOUNTAIN & DYLAN.This CD is Bob Dylan songs! Yeah Bob Dylan. It may sound strange why Mountain or I would attempt this, but I already did in 1969 On my first solo record, Leslie West "Mountain" I got the idea in Europe
