Nat King Cole / George Shearing - Nat King Cole Sings, George Shearing Plays. CD. (Blue Note - 5252502) Cole and Shearing (with his quartet and an orchestra) run through fifteen swing standards. A perfect pairing really, the pair were both from the world of Jazz, were born in the same year and had achieved world wide stardom by the time of this 1961 album. The class of the two players means that they never step over each over each other, accompanying and gearing up themselves. Sadly the only album they made together, it is clearly a thrill for both players to work together. These sessions created the defining version of "Let There Be Love", included on this remixed and remastered album are three bonus tracks recorded at the same time: "Everything Happens To Me", "The Game Of Love", "Guess I'll Go Back Home."
