Neil Finn - Try Whistling This. CD. (Parlophone Records - 4951392) The former Split Endz / Crowded house singer's first solo album. It's not really that surprising that out of the two group it was Finn that forged ahead with a solo career after they split in the mid '90's, he was always the seriously talented one with a gift for Beatley melodies. Like the last Crowded House album, this finds Funnn experimenting in lush arrangements and darker lyrical territories. He clearly couldn't be happy being out of a band situation. Includes the great pop songs "Sinner", "She Will Have Her Way", the title track and "Faster Than Light." One of those albums you have to listen to a few times to really get into, but from then on you are hooked. First released in '98.
