(UM3 ISLAND - 9840022) Three disk deluxe version of The Orb's debut album from '89, digitally remastered plus Peel sessions and Aubry mixes. Revolutionary at it's time of release, an album that wasn't packed with tunes but low key background noises, blissfully laid back in it’s approach to dance music, deliberately trying to sound nothing like any of their contemporaries by utilising live instruments and making samples central in their songs. Effectively starting the electronica movement of the nineties on their own. Orb - Cydonia. CD. (Malicious Damage - MD603) Covering fifteen years of conspiracy and collaboration with some of the biggest names in electronic music, this is the first volume of Orb treasures from Alex Paterson's spherical archives. Andy Hughes, Aki Omori, Vincent McDonald and Nina Walsh all feature here on the defining work the duo created, epitomising the emerging ambient-techno/house genres of the '90's.

The master of ambient, Alex Paterson was one of the major players in defining the genre and has inspired countless artists and club goers with The Orb's revolutionary sounds.This time around, it features collaborations with legendary German composer Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Thomas Fehlmann, Andy Hughes, Vincent "vin100" Crane and Alex's long-standing friend and musical accomplice Youth.
