Paatos - Timeloss. LP. (Mellotronen - MELLOP2) Stunning 2002 debut album, to further this Swedish band's reputation in the progressive/ jazz rock scene. An offshoot of Landberk the band easily stand up along with Anekdoten as one of Swedens best progressive bands. Right in the first minutes of "Sensor" the listener is immersed in electric guitars, washes of mellotron, jazzy keyboards and female vocals sounding similar to Bjork. Fans of Landberk, Morte Macabre, and Anekdoten should jump on this item.

Paatos - Kallocain. CD + DVD. (Inside Out - SPV08960760) Limited edtion CD with bonus DVD (contains 4 tracks from Rockpalast TV region 0 PAL) of this Swedish rock band. Dreamy vocals with the mellotron cushioning the sound waves with soft strings with a 70's style rock vibe.The album was mixed by Steve Wilson and has wide ranging influences from Can,King Crimson & Portishead.Beautiful 3 fold digi package and detailed booklet.

Paatos - Perception/Tea. 7". (Mellotronen - MELLOPA-1) Rare and very limited single (released in 2001) by this new progressive Swedish band who evolved from Landberk. With echoes of Anekdoten, 3rd And The Mortal and similar Scandinavian progressive bands this 7" contains two mellow, Jazzy and spacey tracks with female vocals and trippy analogue synths. Picture sleeve and clear vinyl.

Paatos - Silence Of Another Kind. CD. (SPV - SPV48962) The third album by this unique and new Svedish band, fronted by the charismatic (for which read 'phwoaarrr') frontwoman Petronella Nettermalm. They themselves describe their music as 'melancholic post rock' with the influences of Bjork, Can, King Crimson and Portishead- and that can't be no bad fing!! Somewhat heavier than both its predecssors, and similar in some places to The Gathering, Madder Mortem or a female fronted Opeth, but unique in delivery. Interesting- in fact, new band of the month.
