Easily one of the most influential bands in the history of heavy metal music, Pentagram began life in the early 70's producing doom-laden rock that is considered by many to have been the blueprint for much of the heavy sounds that followed. Initially influenced by British bands such as The Groundhogs and Black Sabbath their own brand of doom metal has influenced everyone from Paradise Lost to Cathedral. "Turn to Stone" is a compilation of the best moments from the three classic albums that Peaceville has reissued: Relentless, Day of Reckoning and Be Forwarned. 17 (80 minutes) tracks of doom-laden genius for your pleasure!

Relentless by name, relentless by nature. 11 tracks of crushing, pummeling riffs and haunting, Sabbath/Heepesque melody from the band who prcatically invented the doom genre. This was the first of their re-releases/reworkings from the Peaceville era in the mid-90s, but with material dating back as far as the early-mid 80s. Tracks such as "The Ghoul" "Death Row" (also recorded by the 'Ram's sister band of that name) "20 Buck Spin" and the title track are now firm favourites among Pentafans, and have influenced yet ANOTHER generation of stoner and doom metallers. Now rereleased at with brand new liner notes by legendary frontman Bobby Liebling, and retouched artwork, this is an attractive package for anyone who appreciates true doom.
Anyone that knows their history will realise that early Pentagram represent one of the great lost US late 60's hard rock bands who can stand along with The Frost, Amboy Dukes, MC5, Stooges, SRC and Rationals as early pioneers of American hard rock. This is the ultimate and essential collection of unearthed gems from the early 70s line up of the band who made the stunning 1972 psych gem "Be Forewarned" under the name Macabre (which appears here). Most of the tracks were recorded in 1973/74 and have been digitally remastered to give the best possible sound quality. Hugely important in the development of metal/stoner rock and essential for fans of Detroit Rock, War Pig, Leaf Hound, Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, and '60's heavy psych in general. Awesome stuff!
Formed as long ago as 1971 in Arlington, Virginia, Pentagram (led by the enigmatic and mysterious Bobby Liebling) are possibly the originators of all doom metal as we know it, and after Black Sabbath possibly the most influential band in the subgenre. This album was recorded and released in the mid 90s for the Peaceville label (featuring material old and new) and shows the band continuing their endless stream of bludgeoning yet melodic low-end rock and roll. This re-vamped version with full linernotes from the almost virtual Mr Liebling himself. Includes the 10 minute epic 'Burning Saviour'.
Digi pack edition of 1990s Peaceville album from legendary doom overlords, which invariably features both old and new material. Title taken of course from the single 'Be Forewarned' by Macabre, an early incarnation of the band.
Rare performance from 1978 by US Doom Metal originals Pentagram. Featuring a five piece band, this is a fantastic concert performance by Bobby Liebling's collective that sounds like a high energy cross between Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer. Twelve tracks of pure metal mayhem from a band formed in 1971 and still playing!

Yet more rare early material by this band who are seen as champions of early metal, but in actual fact were closer to late '60's early '70's hard acid rock bands such as MC5, Amboy Dukes, SRC and others. The band penned the highly regarded acid psych classic "Macabre" (a version of which can be found here) and also recorded some great heavy material in a similar vein with ripping fuzz/wah wah lead guitar breaks. This is a 2-disc set containing rare and unreleased studio recordings (including great versions of The Yardbirds "Little Games" and The Stones "Under My Thumb") live rehearsals from the early 70's and a deluxe 28-page booklet that includes lyrics, detailed historical liner notes by drummer Geof O'Keefe and scores of never-before-seen Pentagram photographs. First Daze Here Too is 22 tracks of vintage Pentagram classics from the vaults of the influential and critically acclaimed D.C. legends.
