R.E.M. - Fables Of The Reconstruction- The IRS Vintage 1985. CD. (IRS - 0777 7 13160 2) Cracking 1985 release from the then up-and-coming young US combo. Now including five rare B sides, this is a fine example of mid-Eighties rock without the pomp and verbosity of the later more commercially successful releases.

R.E.M. - Interview: Birth Of A Monster. CD. (RPM - VP 001) Taped during the bands first ever UK tour in 1983, this well recorded interview reveals the intriguing story of REMs early days as told by Michael Stipe and Peter Buck. Tales about REMs formation, musical influences, early gigs, first recordings, songwriting, life on the road, death threats, biker bars, the girl with the see through shirt and raiding fridges.

R.E.M. - Eponymous. CD. (IRS - 4934572) Nifty compilation of early stuff from the Eighties, including rare mixes, outtakes and singles. Featuring "Radio Free Europe," "The One I Love" and "It's The End Of The World" amongst others.

R.E.M. - Document - The IRS Years Vintage 1987. CD. (IRS - 0777 7 13200 2) The breakthrough album for REM. Containing the hits "It's The End Of The World" and "The One I Love," this excellent album now includes six extra rare B sides - some live. Classic album at a new classic price.
