Randy & The Radiants - Memphis Beat - The Sun Recordings 1964 - 19666. CD. (Big Beat - CDWIKD 267) Amongst the last releases on Sun Records were a pair of singles by Randy & the Radiants, one of the most popular teen combos in Memphis in the mid-1960s. Sam Phillips’ attempt to get back at the British Invasion, they were more than just another Beatles knock off with their smooth harmonies and folk/ countrified arrangements as well as the in-house garage / pop songs that took them above the many pretenders to the throne. Many of these twenty four tracks, recorded with either Phillips himself or his son Knox are unisseud before now.
