Reynols - Pacallirite Sorban Cumanos. CD. (Beta-lactam Ring Records - MT 51) Adventurous listeners may have already had their hair straightened and their ears blessed by the exploits of South American psychedelic outsider musicians Reynols. Now their jaws are widening to catch more little fish with this their (2002) most accessible album to date. They have christened their new style "sushi-kraut" and it features all the syrupy, seering guitar hallmarks and plodding time signatures of the finest psychedelic krautrock legends: names such as Ash Ra Temple, Amon Duul II, Xhol Caravan, Can and Guru Guru are never far from the tip of the tongue. The album also displays the spirtual spaciousness and random lo-fi loosness of Ghost, AMT, White Heaven and Magical Power Mako with that necessary touch of noisy, inventive and unique vocalising from Miguel Tomasin. Sure to be a break-through for the band and undoubtedly a gem for the listener!
