Amongst the serious collection of rarities found on this disc are those made by the hindu musicians that provided music for the production of original Uday Shankar (Ravi's brother) dance company of HinduMusicians when it made its historic first visit to the United States in 1937; the young Ravi Shankar was amongst that number. Also included is the astonishing 28 minute 'Raga Jog' recorded in 1956 and arguably one of his absolute finest recordings.

Very rare on vinyl, this CD issue has the original mind blowing Rick Griffin cover and includes both mono and stereo versions of the album. Far out!

Click for large image 180 gram thick card gatefold vinyl version (with large booklet insert) of the debut 1969 album from UK hippy collective Quintessence. Recorded just a few weeks after their formation, it's a great mix of rock, jazz and eastern jams. The band were mainly attracted to Hinduism, but they also made references to Buddhism and Christianity in some of their mystical psychedelic songs. Regarded by many as one of the key underground community bands of the era along with Hawkwind and The Pink Fairies they were cornerstones of the Ladbroke Grove scene.LAST 4 COPIES OF THIS VINYL PRESSING.
