Sachiko Kanenobu - Misora. CD. (Chapter Recs - CH54CD) 1972 debut from Japan's first female singer songwriter. This is the first edition from non-Japanese music lovers and is an absolute pleasure. Emigrating to America soon after it was recorded, she didn't release another record until the '90's and this folk masterpiece was largely forgotten until her return. Now held in high esteem amongst the underground folk scene (she was the only female artist on the influential japanese independent label URC), this album is considered a pioneering great. Features extensive liner notes, lyrics translated into English by the woman herself and includes never before seen pictures from her archive.
