Santana - Welcome. LP.

1973 effort from Santana this was something of a companion piece to Carlos Santana's duet album with John McLaughlin "Love Devotion and Surrender". The band had now expanded to an 8 piece including new singer Leon Thomas and the sound is musically very adventurous. Now repressed for a limited time on 180 gram vinyl.

Three albums by the Latin Rock band from San Francisco. "Caravanserai" (1972) is a brilliant cosmic album loaded with Carlos Santana's spacey, flowing guitar lines and a lush almost tropical production, whilst "Welcome" (1974) and "Amigos" (1976) are less frenetic but more joyously Latin in texture and content. Highly recommended.

These tracks feature the mid '60's line up with Neil Schon and Gregg Rolie, future members of Journey. A great anthology that includes early versions of "Jingo" and "Soul Sacrifice." Contains two bonus songs, a remix of "El Corazon Manda" and "Evil Ways" recorded live at Fillmore '68. A nice way to be introduced to early Santana, this also serves as a fine addition to long term fans collections.
