(Cherry Red Books - ISBN0-95172-066) Meticulously researched and written by Keith Badman and Terry Rawlings, this book contains previously undocumented details of their TV, Radio, Concert appearances and promotional work. This is accompanied by dozens of unpublished photographs, along with interviews from each band member and a silence breaking interview with Jimmy Winston, who speaks about the band for the first time in 30 years. "Lazy Sunday", "Itchycoo Park", "Tin Solider", "All Or Nothing" - these were just some of the classics created by the ultimate British pop group. From 1965 until their break-up in 1969, these cheeky young London Mods were responsible for some of the finest most entertaining hits of the 60's which remain as fresh, vibrant and relevant today as they did back then - their hits have timeless appeal for fans old and new. The Small Faces' style ranged from soulful R&B to psychedelic rock mixed with a touch of old time music hall. It was this bizarre combination which made a production like "Lazy Sunday" such a rare delight. (Wounded Bird Records - WUO9113) First 1970s reunion album from the Small Faces, originally released on Atlantic in 1977, features the boys doing what they always did best, going their own ways and then coming together in chaos and ramshackle intensity. Uneven but certainly not as bad as the critics said it was, worth it if only for the car-crash that was the late 1970s Steve Marriott. A worthwhile addition for any curious fan and an essential one for the hard-core.

Small Faces - 78 In The Shade. CD. (Wounded Bird Records - WOU 9171) 1978 effort from the Small Faces, which saw them self-producing for the second time and heralded a smoother and more slick and soulful production than their previous 1970 album. It's an interesting propersition that doesn't always work, but when it does it, such as the great "Over Too Soon" and "Soldier Boy", comes through with flying colours.

Small Faces - Here Come The Small Faces. Dble CD. (Atom Music - ATOM2003) The Small Faces - a familiar name, familiar tracks, and familiar faces, but in the guise of The Small Faces their career only spanned three and a half heady years. Formed in 1965 when Steve Marriot met Ronnie Lane at a gig, the band was soon playing the likes of the Cavern Club in London. They caught the eye of showbiz manager Dan Arden (Sharon Osbourne’s father), who soon had them on Decca and recording their first single. "Whatcha Gonna Do About It." In the summer of ’67 the band under a new label and new management started having hits again. August saw "Itchycoo Park" hit the top 5 and the band set to work on the album "Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake" which, although it would be a number one album, was also the beginning of the end. Marriot hated "Lazy Sunday Afternoon" which was released against his wishes but went to number two and at a New Year's gig in 1968 he walked off stage during a performance of the track, never to return. This then is a definitive collection of those brief years of The Small Faces.

One of the first ‘concept albums’, side 2 featured a narration from comic Professor Stanley Unwin following the quest of Happiness Stan to find the missing half of the moon! In packaging terms too it broke new ground,originally coming in a circular LP sleeve, designed to mimic a tobacco tin. Most importantly it broke musical ground and put the Small Faces where they belonged at the pinnacle of the British music scene.Indeed, the album knocked The Beatles off #1,staying there for 5 weeks. It remains one of the most important UK albums of the 60s, right up there with Sgt Pepper,SF Sorrow and Beggars Banquet.Packaged in a deluxe circular tin.Now deleted last few copies.
