Spiders - Nuevas Rutas En Sonido. CD. (La Ciruela Electrica - PECD 662) CD reissue of 1973 album from the Mexican psychedelic band. Less overtly psychedelic than their debut, this nevertheless contains some nice trippy passages, not least in the dreamy swirling keyboard sounds reminiscent of Procol Harum.

Spiders - Back. LP. (La Ciruela Electrica - PEL 716) Excellent late '60s Mexican psych rock fronted by an American vocalist. Full of great guitar and keyboards with strong songs and sounding like a polished version of Hunger with flashes of the Doors and Iron Butterfly. Recommended and very limited.

Spiders - Let's Go - Gs I Love You Vol. 3. CD. (Big Beat - CDWIKD 202) Great compilation of Japan's famous band. This 28 track set concentrates on their mid Sixties output, and encompasses beat pop, pop psych, garage punk and soul. Unlike most other bands of their time, they wrote a lot of their own material, and this is reflected here, together with a number of Western covers. What makes it all the more interesting is the brain melting over the top guitar work, insane enthusiasm, and whacked out gloovy vlocals.....One of the vocalists went on to play Monkey in the TV series! Galage lock never sounded so gleat.
