Artist Listing : Strapps (2 products)

Strapps - Strapps. CD. (Thunderbird - CSA118)

This album from 1976 came after Mick Underwood's involvement with Quatermass,(one of the classic Harvest signings) and before his stint with Gillan (where, allegedly, he was famous for setting fire to himself). Fronted by the bizarre Ross Stagg, whose style can only be described as a more 'heavy' version of Bryan Ferry meets Kevin Coyne, their fixation with BDSM fetishes and schoolgirls was a selling point-briefly- that would probably never be allowed in the 21st century. File alongside Bebop Deluxe, Detective, Burlesque and Agony Bag in that bizarre group of pre-punk bands who existed in that strange yet fascinating nowhereland between glam, prog and proto-metal. Produced by Roger Glover and featuring a bonus non-album single side, this first-for-CD release is an essential purchase for fans of Deep Purple, Gillan and Quatermass, or just anything a bit odd.
