On this crazed recording the band meet The Beach Boys, and terrorise them back to California with just a touch of energetic rock & roll, a soupcon of tribal rhythms and a hint of pagan doo-wop. Surf Sluts - Surf And Destroy. CD. (White Arsenic Records - BLZBOB666) Brilliant second album after a gap of five years for the band that emerged from York's legendary dark folk psych band The Suicidal Flowers. However, there's not the slightest hint of folk here, just foot-to-the-floor full on rock-and-roll-punk-mayhem. Taking influences from the 50's 60's and 70's The Surf Sluts are like The MC5 meets Chuck Berry, Hank Williams and The Beach Boys on drugs. Psychotic rock up to it's eyeballs in speed, bleach and cheap booze. The Surf Sluts rip through some infective originals a ludicrous punk rock cover of Madonna's Material Girl and an equally insane version of The Beach Boys Sloop John B. If you want energy, humour and rock and roll mayhem then this is it!
