Take The Brain Train To The Third Eye - Bud Mathis' Sunset Trip. CD. (Bacchus Archive - BA 1147) A journey through 1960's Hollywood folk, garage and psyche seen though the eyes of Bud Mathis songwriter, manager, producer and nightclub manager. This is a very cool selection of West Coast LA '60's psych with a great selection of rarities featuring obscure bands such as The Joint Effort, The Fairviews, Fire and more all connected with the happening heyday of The Sunset Strip. The real gems here are three great tracks by Brain Train - including their version of Black Roses - who later became the awesome Clearlight on Elektra. One of the best '60's US psych comps around at the moment.
