Times - I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape. CD. (Cherry Pop - ARTPOP NO.1) One of the many guises of Edward Ball, this first came out in 1983. This marvelously kitsch album sees the Ball led group experiment in late '60's psychedelia / pop. Clearly in love with the genre, they create a genuinely successful nostalgia trip back to the swinging days of the past. Despite their best efforts to hide in the '60's, its notable how similar many chart acts of the modern day sound so similar to their new wave roots (Franz Ferdinand, Interpol et al), this "borrowing" of the sonic qualities of new wave keeps this album feeling fresh as a daisy. Original thirteen track album expanded with six alternate take bonus tracks.

Times - This Is London. CD. (Cherry Pop - ARTPOP 19) Originally recorded in 1983, This is another album by ex-Television Personalities member Edward Ball. Unavailable for a number of years, this twelve track album has been expanded with seven live performances / alternate takes / 7" singles making their debut on CD. A fine Mod revival album with elements of the new wave scene he was previously part of. Surprising how much this album, although having been released over twenty years ago sounds just like Maximo Park, Interpol, Arctic Monkeys et al (or is that the other way round?)

Times - Go! With The Times. CD. (Artpop - ARTPOP 18) The Times 1980 album, remastered and expanded with six bonus tracks. A highliy influential yet little known band, their sound still sounds up to date a quarter of a century after its release due to the numerous copycats that exist in the indie charts of the modern day. Few groups could do their lyrical irony, ridicule and social observance with such vigour and good humour until the arrival of the Smiths a few years later.Twenty tracks in total.
