Tommy Bolin - Snapshot. CD. (Lemon - CDLEM56) The famed Deep Purple/James Gang guitarist had a short but varied career. This release brings together studio outtakes and home demos from all periods of Bolin's career and gives listeners a fascinating glimpse into the creative process of Tommy Bolin's music. There are jazzy-rock workouts and sensitive acoustic ballads. The CD is complemented by extensive and informative sleeve notes in a 12 page booklet, together with a discography.

Tommy Bolin - Teaser. LP. (Nemperor - PZ 37534) 1975 outing from this brilliant if a little underrated guitarist. Mixed styles (blues-rock, ballads, fusion, funk, and hard rock), which showed that he could master each one. The album includes the Purp's stage favourite "Wild Dogs". Excellent contributions from a whole host of session musicians make this a great 70's rock album.

Tommy Bolin - Private Eyes. LP. (Columbia - 34329) Vinyl copy of this 1976 release and one does really wonder what would have become of this talent had he not succumbed to a senseless drug overdose at the age of 25. This album contains the classic nine-minute rocker "Post Toastee" which merges a long jam section with lyrics concerning the dangers of drug addiction, the beautiful string drenched "Hello Again" and the funky hard rock of "Bustin' Out For Rosie" along with 5 other great rock tunes make this a classic Bolin album.

Tommy Bolin - Whips And Roses. CD. (SPV - SPV78582) 10-track retrospective of this fine guitarist, just one of many (Kossoff, Rhoads, Vaughan etc) who flared brighty and sadly died before their time. As well as playing for the James Gang and ultimately Deep Purple, Bolin recorded two fine solo albums 'Teaser' and 'Private Eyes' both of which showed his incredible talent as a guitarist, composer and singer. All the tracks on this compilation, however, are either alternate versions or unreleased songs from studio sessions- so you get your value for money. Released in a stylish digipak with a 24 page booklet.

Tommy Bolin - Whips And Roses II. CD. (SPV - SPV78622) Second edition of alternative and rare version by the late Guitarist. Thirteen track collection that has been remixed and remastered from tapes recently re-discovered. One of those many musicians who who flared brighty and sadly died before their time, this album just shows how prolific he was before his death at just twenty five. Includes: "Crazed Fandango", "Spacey Noodles, "Tommy Got Da Blues" and "lotus." Digi Pack with twenty four page booklet containing photos and notes from Simon Robinson.
