UFO - UFO 1. CD. (Green Tree - GTR-015)

The excellent first album by this British heavy rock band. Originally released in 1971 and featuring some blues influences in evidence and loads of freaked out acid guitar work, the album includes covers of "C'mon Everybody" and "Come Away Melinda" as well as killer originals such as "Timothy". Plus 4 bonus tracks from the live album.

UFO - Time To Rock. Dble CD. (Repertoire Records - RR 4720)

Two disc compilation featuring 40 tracks from the heavy space metallers. Covering the years 1970 to 1986, this compiles most of the single releases during that time, and some right crackers there were indeed. From 1970's "Come Away Melinda" and "C'mon Everybody" through to the Michael Schenker overload of "Doctor Doctor" and "Young Blood" through to the late 80's US poodle rocking, it's a fine collection that rocks - and then some !

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Mogg, Way (no, not Mogwai) and their compadres live onstage in the Land Of the Rising Sun, kicking ass with a tempestuous live set from the mid-90s that shows there's no end to their timeless rocking abilities.

UFO - Flying - One Hour Space Rock. CD. (Repertoire Records - REP 4743)

One hour of space rock it is indeed, as UFO's second 1972 album takes some extended journeys into spaced out hard acid rock jam territory. They make five tracks last 58 minutes with one clocking in at over 26 minutes! Stunning guitar work.

Great late '60's progressive acid rock! This Double set boasts three killer albums including the 1971 albums Flying & UFO 1 alongside the Live album (originally on Nova) from 1972 which makes up the bands complete Decca/Nova years collection from 1971-72. Also included are the rare cuts from the 1972 Decca single "Galactic Love" & "Lovin' Cup".These recordings represent the band at a time when they still had their blues influences and loads of freaked out acid guitar work evident on long tracks like the 20 minute "Star Storm". UFO - Strangers In The Night. CD. (Emi - 358 8342)

Recorded in Chicago in 1978, this 13 track release is regarded as one of the seminal live rock albums of the '70s. Wait for the bit where Phil Mogg sings 'Lights out, Lights out Chicago', followed by the audience's (heavily dubbed) almighty roar, and just see if it sends a shiver down yer spine. 'Eavy rock, mate!!!

UFO - One Of Those Nights: The Collection. Dble CD. (Sanctuary Records - CMDDD1379)

Thirty eight track salute to one of the UK's premier heavy rock groups. Disk one is "High Stakes And Dangerous Men", an album from'92, with a bonus track "Long Gone (Live)." Disk two is extracts from an official bootleg that quickly became hard to find, "Live In Texas, 1979." Important in the history of the band as it is one of the few recordings when guitarist Paul "Tonka" Chapman was in the line up. Also included are selected tracks from "Lights Out In Tokyo, Live 1992." A fine album collecting together some prime and essential cuts from UFO's back catalogue. Tracks included: "Back Door Man", "Ain't No Sweet Life", "Cherry", "Let It Roll" and "Doctor Doctor." Booklet sleeve notes by journalist Laurence Archer.
