Undertakers Circus - Ragnarock. CD. (Pan Records - PACD 023) CD reissue of debut album (originally released on Polydor in 1973) from short-lived and brassy 'heavy' (old terminology) rock act from Norway, one of the first bands from that country to sing in their native tongue. Featuring lengthy sax and flute solos, trumpet, trombone, congas and twin guitars, the music calls to mind a more Scandocentric version of early Chicago, B S & T, Rare Earth, Colosseum, Savoy Brown ('Train To Nowhere' period) or the Keef Hartley Band- but with melodies and harmonies one might find on a BJH or Moody Blues album. Great cover shot too- the entire band, who all look like Peter Wyngarde or Pete Atkin, all dressed as undertakers!! Includes two 'Bonuskutt' from the non-album single of the period.
