Vanilla Fudge - Then And Now. CD. (Snapper Classics - SDPCD193) The 2004 release from the reformed originators of US 'heavy' rock, never great composers in their own right but renowned for their organ and wah guitar- led, OTT, histrionic adaptations of the pop tunes of the day. Laced with high-pitched harmony vocals, Eastern and neoclassical flourishes and multiple time-changes, the Fudge's music laid down the blueprint for Iron Butterfly, Mountain, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Styx and any band that ever combined block harmonies with Hammond organ, and fans will be pleased to know that upon reconvening in the mid-00s they hadn't altered one bit. On this album (previously available as 'The Return') stalwarts Tim Bogert (bass, vocals) and Carmine Appice (drums, vocals)and guitarist Vince Martell were joined by new organist Bill Pascali- who makes a fair show of himself on reworkings of old faves such as their take on 'You Keep Me Hangin' On', 'Shotgun' and a rendition of the Appice-composed Rod Stewart hit 'D Ya Think I'm Sexy'. Of course, it wouldn't be a Fudge album without a couple of 'fudged-up' contemporary hits in there- in this case the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" and N-Sync's "Tearing Up My Heart". Before you refuse to buy this album on principle, just remember this is something the band have always done, and believe us they do it better than anyone else! Fudgetastic.

Vanilla Fudge - The Return. CD. (Mausoleum - 250098) Since 1999, original members Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert and Vince Martell, together with Bill Pascali, have been back on the road. This album was recorded in 2002 and features their initial hit, originally by the Supremes, 'You Keep Me Hangin' On'

Vanilla Fudge - Rock & Roll. CD. (Sundazed - SC 6415) The final album, recorded in 1970, concluded Vanilla Fudge's career in a brain numbing heavy style. This mixture of originals and covers included a bizarre version of "The Windmills Of Your Mind", which works well with the bands' typical dramatic style and also contains the previously unreleased 19 minute studio version of "Break Song".

Vanilla Fudge - Renaissance. CD. (Sundazed - SC 6143) Vanilla Fudge's 1968 psychedelic album is a tripped-out downer of epic stoned proportions. A lysergic doom pervades Fudge's unique brand of heavy psychedelic rock. Vanilla Fudge - Near The Beginning. CD. (Sundazed - SC 6144) The Fudge's fourth album, from 1969, was an attempt to return to their hard rock roots mixing studio and live material. Less overly dramatic than previous efforts, this was a finely crafted set of tunes that included the stunning 23 minute "Break Song" one of the best live tracks ever recorded by anyone and an ambitious cover of "Some Velvet Morning". CD includes three bonus tracks.

Vanilla Fudge - Beat Goes On. CD. This psychedelic concept album from 1968 was an ambitious attempt to chronicle the history of musical development. Full of the characteristic keyboard sound of their debut, this mixed together classical themes, Beatles covers, historical voices and strands of musical Americana in a bizarre melange of styles and interpretations. Vanilla Fudge - Live 2004. CD + DBLE DVD. (Snapper / Charly - CHFF1009SFD) Recorded at Rockpalast in Bonn, Germany during their European tour of 2004. One of the few American links between psychedelia and what soon became heavy metal, they still know how to throw a damn good show. CD and double DVD details to follow. Vanilla Fudge - Good Good Rockin' - Live At Rockpalast. CD. (Music Avenue - 250159) One of the bestselling album Rock acts of the late Sixties and widely acknowledged as being influential pioneers of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal and inspiring groups like Deep Purple in the process. Their unique psychedelic variant of Classic Rock, consisting of a trademark epic and complex arrangements of hits, proved a successful formula that has sustained a worldwide fan base for more than 35 years. Good Good Rockin' was recorded live at the Crossroads Club Festival - Rockpalast (WDR) show at the Harmonie in Bonn, Germany on March 24th during the band's 2004 tour of Europe.

(Escapi Music - EMUS20078) Although they did record original material, Vanilla Fudge were best known for their loud, heavy, slowed down arangements of popular tracks of the day. This is their first album proper in over twenty years, reworking twelve Led Zeppelin tracks in their own mould. Don't be fooled into thinking this is some straightforward covers album, that really would go down as well as a Lead Zeppelin, this really is a Fudge album, bathed in their very own trippy sound. Includes: "Black Mountain Sound", "Ramble On", "Rock And Roll" and "Moby Dick."
