Vardis - The World's Gone Mad- The Best Of Vardis. Dble CD. (Essential - ESACD935) Double CD compilation of the band's Logo label recordings. Vardis were formed around Fireball XL5 fanatic Steve Zodiac in the late 1970s. Not unlike a heavier version of the Quo (and Quo were pretty damn heavy back then) the band's constant gigging and entertaining stage show won them a substantial live following which translated well to record. They lacked a commercial suckewr punch that would have propelled them to greater heights, although they are fondly remembered by those who were ther at the time of the 'Nobwob'.
