Artist Listing : Vavoura Band (2 products)

Vavoura Band - Live The Early Days. CD. (Ikaros Music - CD 8)

Formed by John Drolapas (guitars) and John Vavouras (bass, vocals) in 1976, was a hard rock formation that was very famous for its destructive live shows. Their musical style tended towards Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Golden Earring. With English lyrics and a blues rock edge, -Park House Blues" is a stand-out track, but there are ethnic elements (bouzouki style electric guitar runs from the deft fingers of John Drolapas) and progressive leanings (strange keyboard sounds) that set the Vavoura band apart. Twelve tracks, including their signature song "(I Ain't the) Junkie" recorded live between 1977 and 1981. Includes an eight-page booklet with band photos.

Vavoura Band - Ethnic (Soundtracks For Films). CD. (Ikaros Music - CD 010)

Formed by John Drolapas (guitars) and John Vavouras (bass, vocals). This album is a collection of ethnic-flavored instrumentals replete with exotic percussion, swirling guitar lines, and a truly heavy stoned atmosphere reminiscent of early Popol Vuh, or in some cases early Pink Floyd. Features the exquisite guitar playing of Johnny Vavouras. Limited edition release packaged in miniature metal film cans.
