Artist Listing : Violeta De Outono (4 products)

Violeta De Outono - Violeta De Outono. CD.

Great album from this band of Brazilian musicians also known for recording with Invisible Opera Company of Tibet (Brazil). Alternately psychedelic and progressive, this is a fine piece of work that was recorded between 1987 and 1989 and includes sitars and Moogs in a groovy mix that also features a cover of "Tomorrow Never Knows".

Violeta De Outono - Woman On The Mountain. CD. (Voiceprint - VPB101CD)

1999 album from the Brazilian band with links to Gong. Not quite as overtly progressive as previous outings, this takes a slightly more commercial rock/pop stance as it's central theme. It's all done with the usual impeccable taste though. And they continue their Pink Floyd dedication with a nifty version of "Astronomy Domine". BARGAIN PRICE.

Violeta De Outono - Live At Rio Artrock Festival '97. CD. (Rock Symphony - RSLN 038)

Very nice live show from the Brazilian progressive space rock meisters. Never afraid to parade their Pink Floyd influences, they open with "Astronomy Domine" and continue to delve the further reaches of the galaxy with another ten tracks that include "Tomorrow Never Knows." Nice !

Violeta De Outono - Early Years. CD. (Voiceprint - VPB102CD)

On this disc Brazil's favourite progressive space rock band, cover their roots. Recorded in 1988, versions of "Interstellar Overdrive" and "Within You, Without You" sit alongside The Stones' "Citadel" and Gong's "Blues For Findlay". It's all done with obvious respect, but perhaps the crowning glory is the bonus track - a 17 minute medley of "Echoes / No Quarter" that's worth the price of admission alone.
