I don't mind telling you that it's a really great record. The record was produced and mixed by Andrew Weiss and Ween and it's an ugly one. You really wanna pick this up, I'm not shitting you. (Schnitzel - SRCD125527) A collection of odds, ends and leftovers from the studio floor of this great US "alternative" (God, we hate that term) band, who are about as difficult to categorise as it's humanly possible to be, unless your name is Motorpsycho. Everrything from country to Irish folk to utter prog widdly to stadium AOR is here, although always fed through the trademark Dean Ween blender of distortion, sick vocals, phasing effects and occasional doses of 'aaaarg'. It's fun to be disturbed.

The album proven for once and for all that along with their twisted sense of humor and wide musical vocabulary, Ween are also impressive songwriters. Over the course of Chocolate and Cheese, Ween explore virtually every permutation of pop, rock, soul, and funk.
