Wishbone Ash - Pilgrimage. LP. (MCA - 10233) 1971 outing from one of England's most popular rock acts who possessed a beautiful twin lead guitar sound very much in the US West Coast style. Thankfully the good people at Talking Elephant have got on their hands and knees and collected these vapour trails in an airtight 2-CD compilation of the Ash's most famous work. In addition there is a bonus free 3rd CD with three previously unreleased live tracks and a full 50 minute interview with Andy Powell, the man who made Wishbone famous with its twin guitar leads. Wishbone Ash - Time Was - The Live Anthology. Dble CD. (Castle - CMDDD960) An excellent 2 CD live set overview of this great English guitar rock/progressive rock band. Features recordings from 1991, 1970, 1976 and 1973 and is completed with a detailed illustrated booklet.

Wishbone Ash - Live Affairs. Dble CD. (Music Avenue - 250157) Wishbone Ash is the pioneering British twin-lead guitar band that influenced the likes of Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden, along with a crop of new, young guitar bands. Though they garnered notice for their unique blend of Blues, Jazz and English Folk it was the way the twin guitars played melodic leads together that would become their trademark. Founding guitarist Andy Powell's name is also often associated with the Gibson Flying V, which he has popularized over the years. Disc one of Live Affairs was recorded in 1992, in Chicago, a must for any fans of the Andy Powell/ Ted Turner combination or of lead and harmony guitars at their best. Disc two stems from a 1996 concert in Geneva and, if anything, is even better than the earlier set. An essential purchase, not just for Ash fanatics but also fans of great guitar-based rock everywhere.

Wishbone Ash - First Light. CD. (Talking Elephant - TECD108) An absolute must but for Wishbone fans, these early demo sessions were originally recorded in 1969, they used it to get their first MCA deal. Found in acetate form only, it features the Argus line up of Andy Powell, Ted Turner, Martin Turner and Steve Upton. The original group went to Advision studios in London with engineers Phil Dunne and Eddie Offird to record material that would end up on their debut. Considered lost until very recently, the album found here features two unreleased tracks. An absolute gold mine. Full track listing: "Lady Whiskey", "Roads of Day to Day", "Blind Eye", "Joshua", "Queen of Torture", "Alone", "Handy" and "Errors of My Way."
