(Snapper / Charly - SNAJ730CD) 3-CD clam box set of recordings (over 4 hours worth!) from Bobby Robinson's Fire and Fury Records, who from 1951 to 1964 launched the career of a squillion soul, R'n'B and doo wop stars including Lee Dorsey, Gladys Knight AND Bobby Archan, as well as rehabilitating several blues masters such as Elmore James, Lightnin' Hopkins (no, not the REM song- that was named AFTER HIM) and Arthur Crudup. This is the largest and most comprehensive overview of the label's work ever compiled, and features a 40 page booklet crammed full of info.
