Appearances from ChiefBey, and Montego Joe along with world musician Solomon G. Ilori, woodwind master Yusef Lateef, and bassist Ahmed Abdul-Malik. This is a fusion of authentic Africa with the sound of avant-garde Jazz, swing and afrobeat. Simply a masterpiece. Tracks include: "Prayer By Solomon G. Ilori", and "Ayiko Akiyo (Welcome Welcome My Darling) ".	Osibisa - Osibisa/Woyoya. CD. (Label: B.G.O. Records, Cat.No: BGOCD646) First two albums from Wimbledon-based Ghanian rock collective, fusing the 'criss cross rhythms that explode with happiness' (the translation of the band's name) of their native highlife music with acid guitar, prog sensibilities and jazz improvisation. First album includes 'Music For Gong Gong' and 'Think About The People', both of which still survive in the band's set today, whilst the title track of 'Woyoya' was later covered by Art Garfunkel. Features 'Kokorokoo' 'Sweet America' and 'Che Che Kule'. Digitally remastered and slipcased- a litany of 'criss cross rhythms' as they would put it and inspired widdly that most British bands would kill for. (Label: Globestyle, Cat.No: CDORB 046) Recorded by Globestyle in Kenya; swift, sparkling bass-booted Luo dance-beat by the Baron of Benga and band.
