Roddy Jackson - Central Valley Firegirl. CD. ) For the first, time the complete 50's recordings by this rock n roll piano-pounding screamer. Best known by aficionados for his brace of novelty-tinged Specialty 45s like "Hiccups", there was evidently more to him than that. Notably the fiercer numbers found here are the ones that never saw the light of day; the singer was originally groomed as a white Little Richard by the label’s Art Rupe and Sonny Bono largely due to the throat tearing numbers like "Juke Box Baby" and "I Love Her Just The Same" that he was capable of producing. A small but perfectly formed quintessential 50s wildman, a hugely underrated force. | Jackie Trent - The Magic Of. CD. ) Jackie was a major star both as a singer and as half of a songwriting/marriage partnership with Tony Hatch, and she topped the charts in 1965 with 'Where Are You Now'. her debut album "The Magic Of" is augmented here with her finest recordings from the latter half of the '60's to make making a total of twenty six tracks.
