Band Of Holy Joy - Leaves That Fall In Spring…. CD. (Label: Cherry Red, Cat.No: CDMRED 341)
One of the quintessential 'Rough Trade' bands of the 80s and beyond, The Band Of Holy Joy are a truly unique proposition. Combining the dark but unapologetically humane poetry of singer Johny Brown with the instrument action of Chris Brierley (violin) and Alfie Thomas (accordion, keyboards), they were critically adored and on the covers of several music papers and magazines in their 80's heyday. Drawing on a back catalogue of eight albums and a similar number of singles (most of it now out of print), this best of was put together by the band themselves.

Tom Waits - Under Review 1983- 2006. DVD. (Label: Sexy Individual, Cat.No: SIDVD530)
80 minute documentary DVD, which looks at this extraordinary musician and performer’s music during that period. After Waits’ marriage to Katherine Brennan in 1980, his music became more experimental, challenging and left field, but without any compromise of his craft the songs were better than ever. Through album after album during the 1980s, the 1990s and the 2000s, Waits stunned his audience time and again. This program looks again at these records, and the man who made them, and in doing so provides the most enlightening, revealing and downright entertaining Tom Waits documentary yet to emerge.
The release of this 1973 album marked a turning point for the band. They had a new label, Warner Bros, and had recently become global superstars. Still featuring the classic David Byron / Ken Hensley / Mick Box line-up, 'Sweet Freedom' attempts to take that genre-defining prog metal sound that they themselves had so recently helped to invent into uncharted waters.gatefold LP 180 gram

This band is on the verge of something big!·For Fans of Porcupine Tree, TOOL, Coheed & Cambria!
This fab Ohio-based psychedelic pop band release a formidable compilation of their most serious forays into guitar-based psychedelia (which includessome remixes). The opening two tracks on the album being brand new, never before heard perfect pop confections. Track 1 is downright REVOLVER-esque with sitars galore, evoking early TRAFFIC. The album also boasts sophisticated sounds that would make BILL NELSON of BEBOP DELUXE smile. This is a must-have album for any fan of 21st Century BEATLE-esque,psychedelic pop and rock.
Reefus Moons - Waiting For My Albatross. CD. (Label: Insect Eye, Cat.No: SQUISH 5)
It's been a long time since we last saw a Reefus Moons album, but here's a brand new one issued in 2007 on his own Insect Eye Label. Reefus Moons was on Deleriums' very own Psychedelic Psauna album back in 1991 along with many other neo-psych legends now fallen by the wayside, so it's great to see him back in action. The usual high quality psych pop rock in a Syd/Hitchcock style backs up the evergreen vocal refrains and wit of Yorks very own acid pop minstrel ! Highly recommended.
