First released in 1985, this is one for fans of the early Misfits as it features tracks from their unissued 1978 debut album Static Age as well as non album singles "Halloween" and "Who Killed Marilyn?" Lyrically it is full of their wonderful mix of horror and comedy, at only thirty minutes long it feels like a proper punk album as well. |
Deep Wound - Almost Complete. CD. Almost of the complete recordings of Hardcore legends Deep Wound, a band that featured J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr and Lou Barlow of Sebadoh and once himself anearly Dinosaur member. Starting out as a typical punk group looking for their own voice, their rehearsal sessions quickly resulted in their sound becoming faster and more experimental / reckless. Quickly burning out in 1984, they moved on to more successful groups througout the decade. Certainly one for fans of Gobblehoof, OutPatients, Sebadoh and so on, this is where the Hardcore scene started. Recorded over Christmas 1982, this highlights the fire in Bad Brains Hardcore belly. Available for the first time in CD, this includes two bonus tracks not on the LP release. Includes "We Will Not", "Pay To Cum", "Fearless Vampire Killers" and "F.V.K." | Gorilla Biscuit - Start Today. CD. Agnostic Front - One Voice. CD. 1992 album recorded soon after lead singer Roger Miret's release from prison. Their mix of punk ethics and metal playing is again present here, as is their socio political lyrics. Their blatant decision to ignore the trends of the times served them well in the past, but this album was released when there where a large number of copy cat artists on the American scene. Even with competition, their quality and originality shone through. Includes: "Retaliate", "Bastard" and "Over The Edge." | Agnostic Front - Cause For Alarm. CD. 1986 album from the mighty Agnostic Front, fathers of NYC hardcore. One of the first Americans to mix Punk with Metal together exposing the two separate audiences to the two genres. In hindsight, a fantastic idea, bringing together the precision of Metal with Punk's raw energy to stunning effect. Lyrically politically and socially sharp. Includes a metal reworking of their first album favourite "Your Mistake" to show off their new sound. Also features: "Toxic Shock" and "Public Assistance." |
