ABOUT US
The Freak Emporium was started in 1991 as an insert inside the cult UK fanzine Freakbeat - a magazine dedicated to garage rock and psychedelia. Since those simple photocopied catalogues The Freak Emporium has grown into a huge and sophisticated specialist music collector's website with over 20,000 products.
Supplying hard to find items and collectors editions has always been our speciality, and moving rapidly from the realms of '60's rock The Freak Emporium eventually expanded into the 80+ genres that we cover today.
Our first foray on the web was in 1994 when we supplied a simple text list, which customers could read and then use to email orders to us. Over the years, we have gradually evolved our web site into the vast arrangement that you see today and we currently stock over 20,000 products as our catalogue continues to expand. Our specialist buyers, each expert in their chosen genre, comb the world looking for new and interesting items for our customers. If it's available and worth listing, we aim to stock it.
We pride ourselves on a fast turnaround and most orders are processed within 24 hours. All orders are packaged well, and in the case of non-stretch sealed vinyl we separate LPs from their sleeves to minimise wear in transit.
All credit card information is handled securely and we do not disclose name or address information to any third parties.

A NOTE REGARDING OUR PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
Whilst we make every effort to accurately describe items we sell - by listening to albums, using the considerable knowledge of our buyers and the information given to us by our suppliers - it is not always possible to provide a description that will accurately convey the contents of a record to all listeners. However, we certainly do not stock every album that we are offered and reject anything that we think is below an acceptable standard.Because we only stock what we think we can sell to our customers, all our descriptions will be positive as we aim to convey the contents of a record to a prospective fan of a particular genre of music or a particular artist. We do not profess to be a critical review site or a database of reviews and there will unavoidable be some inaccuracies in the many hundreds of descriptions we produce each week. It is also true that listening to music is a subjective experience and what may sound like a bad record to one person may sound fantastic to another. We make every effort to provide balanced positive information.
