Area - Maledetti. LP. (Arkarma - AK 1009)

Much loved 1976 album from Italy's premier progressive rock outfit Area. Utilising jazz, orchestral arrangements and avant-garde jazz rock that sounds in places like Zappa, John McLaughlin and Soft Machine, this is arguably their most accomplished work and represents a landmark in Italian prog rock. Imagine if Frank Zappa had grown up in Canterbury! Released on Akarma with two bonus tracks. Exact heavy gatefold reissue with insert on 180 gram vinyl…

Children Of One - Children Of One. CD. (Arkarma - AD534)

Children Of One’s sole album was release towards the end of the ‘60s. A very rare and rather obscure psych-rock delice for avid fans, it’s heavily influenced by the so-called Eastern trend. This quartet from New York picked several typical indian instruments like sitar, tablas and others.Improvisation is largely present in their songs and overall the felling is that of a really forgotten gem that ranks up there with the best productions of that era.Richly packaged in the new Akarma DeLuxe line with stunning quality re-mastering

Cressida - Asylum. CD. (Arkarma - AK 229)

The UK progressive bands second album, this lush 1971 effort concentrates on some excellent instrumentals with elaborate arrangements and great keyboard and guitar interplay. The vocal style is at times surprisingly folky, and the guitar style clean. Featuring highlight tracks like "Munich", "Lisa" and the magnificent "Let Them Come When They Will". True progressive rock without the overblown pomposity of hobbits and elves of later years.Really nice extra thick styled gatefold card sleeve that re-creates the original artwork.

Fort Mudge Memorial Dump - Fort Mudge Memorial Dump. CD. (Arkarma - AK385)

Fort Mudge Memorial Dump was a band from Walpole, Massachusetts, that started playing by 1969, gathering a good number of fans. They got filed into the 'Boston Sound', among the Ultimate Spinach, the Beacon Street Union, Orpheus, Tangerine Zoo, ecc. With good technique and better ideas, they recorded a very sought-after LP in which the voice of Caroline Stratton stands out to some Jefferson Airplane affinity. Guitarist Dean Keady, with his jazzy effects, leads the band. This is a very much anticipated release and a sure buy for all collectors.

Reissue of rare ($1500!) and heavy garage rock from 1970 by this New York band. Reign Ghost - Reign Ghost. LP. (Arkarma - AK 277)

180 gram pressing of the debut (1969) album by the leaders of the Canadian '60s underground psychedelic scene. It's certainly one of the rarest Candian psych albums. Featuring the amazing voice of Lynda Squires and the guitar talents of Bob Bryden (later of Christmas) the band begs comparison with Jefferson Airplane and others of that genre with male female vocals, trippy keyboards and guitar work. A great psych sleeve rounds of the package which is housed in suitably heavy duty card. Plenty of long trippy wig-outs!!- LAST 2 COPIES - NOW DELETED BY AKARMA.

Steamhammer - Reflection (Akarma). LP. (Arkarma - AK234LP)

The first Steamhammer album, recorded in 1969. An excellent album of bluesy progressive rock with plenty of West Coast tinged acid guitar, harmonica and vocals that sound very similar to early Jethro Tull. Steamhammer - Reflection (Arkama). CD. (Arkarma - AK 234)

1968 debut from UK blues/prog band Steamhammer. This album sees the band defining their sound away from the blues and folk circuits of 60s England where most of the band 'cut their musical teeth'. Similar in style to early Tull or Gentle Giant, the technical ability of the band (especially guitarists Martin Quittenton and Martin Pugh) make this a stunning debut..
