(Blue Horizon - 82876851232) In 1968, a collection of inspiring Blues artists gathered inOverton Park, Tennessee for the third annual Memphis Country Blues Festival. Now remastered, the recording sfeature some remarkable performances by a collection of artists including Bukka White, Furry Lewis and Joe Callicott amongst others. This album captures some amazing performances which takes the listener backwhat was no doubt an electrifying live blues event.These recordings have now been remastered. Disc Two features the complete Blue Horizon sessions of Bukka White, including those tracks taken from his album Memphis Hot Shots. All have been remastered and include a complete version of "Old Man To.."

(Blue Horizon - 5185162) Born in New Orleans in 1910, the blues recording artist reinvented himself as ‘Champion Jack’ Dupree doubtless in honour of the first ever black boxingChampion, Jack Johnson after an initial career as aboxer. After defeat sometime in the late 30’s, he wenton to pursue his other passion in life, music.This 2CD collection includes all 38 tracks from his timewith the Blue Horizon label which have beenmeticulously re-mastered by label founder, MikeVernon.

Chicken Shack - Complete Blue Horizon Sessions. 3-CD. (Blue Horizon - 82876734942) Chicken Shack were one of the seminal 1960’s bluesbands remembered mostly for containing Christine Perfect on keyboards and Stan Webb’s explosive guitar playing. Later, Perfect married John Mcvie ofFleetwood Mac and later joined the band as full time keyboard player and vocalist.This 3 disc collection marks the musical journey that Chicken Shack betook from 1968 until 1970.Containing 56 tracks from their time with The Blue Horizon label, the album includes two previously unreleased tracks as well as their biggest hit: " I’d Rather Go Blind."

Christine Perfect - Christine Perfect. LP. (Blue Horizon - 7-63860) Mastered from the original quarter inch Master tapes, this is the debut solo from the wife of Fleetwood Mac's bass player John McVie. This twelve track LP originally came out in 1970 ( before she was fully involved with Fleetwood, hence Christine Perfect and not McVie.), after her time working with Spencer Davis and fronting Chicken Shack. Surprisingly not a big hit considering the sheer quality of the album.This high level is maintained throughout largely due to the guest artists, such as members of The Yardbirds, Fleetwood Mac and Chicken Shack. Highlights include "And That's Saying A Lot", showcasing Perfect's pop culture voice perfectly and a gloroius string accompantment on "Wait And See." Complex and memorable, a genuine classic that should be in all record collections.

Duster Bennett - Complete Blue Horizon Sessions. Dble CD. (Blue Horizon - 5185172) Duster Bennett was a unique performer with unbound energy, personality, charm and unquestionable talentn ot only as a musician, but also as a songwriter. Often playing all the instruments himself, his skills as a writer/performer were well and truly breathtaking for those lucky enough to catch one of his live performancesThis collection contains 44 tracks which have been remastered, and also includes 11 of his energised live performances, together with a previously unreleased track "Hard to Resist".

Eddie Boyd - Complete Blue Horizon Sessions. CD. (Blue Horizon - 82876769682) Born in Mississippi in 1914, the Blues pianist Eddie Boyd grew up surrounded by musical influencesduring his early childhood days, including his ownfather who was a blues guitarist and his school friend McKinley Morganfield, a.k.a ‘Muddy Waters’ whowould later record a cover version of one of Eddie’s songs ! Eddie experimented with various instruments during his early teens, influenced notably by Roosevelt Sykes and Leroy Carr, he eventually found the keys of the piano to be where his talents really shone.This collection includes 18 re-mastered tracks from histime with the label, including two which werepreviously unreleased.

Furry Lewis & Mississippi Joe Callicott - Complete Blue Horizon Sessions. Dble CD. (Blue Horizon - 88697041792) This 2CD collection sees the artists’ complete recordings whilst on The famous Blue Horizon label remastered for optimum sound quality. In addition, the package also includes ten previously unreleased tracks,sure to be sought after by the Blues fans.Both artists were born in Mississippi in the early 1900’s with separate recording careers until the onset of the The Depression of 1929 when their recording careers and thatof many blues artists came to an abrupt end. Their paths met for the first time when they were both invited to perform at The 1968 Memphis Country Blues Festival . It was after this appearance that Mike Vernon signed them and these tracks were recorded over an exhaustive 24 hours in the studio and later released as separate artist albums under the series name 'Presenting the Country Blues'Thirteen tracks were recorded by Furry that day, eleven making it on to the original album. The tworemaining tracks remained unreleased until now. The Joe Callicott collection includes a total of eightprevioulsy unreleased tracks. The first time this particualr material has been available in the digitalformat along with previously unreleased out takes.

Key Largo - Key Largo. CD. (Blue Horizon - GTR 620) Another great reissue from the Blue Horizon label vaults. This is the one and only Blue Horizon album from UK blues boomers Key Largo from 1970 who featured the fabulous harmonica player Laurence Garman amongst their number for this blues-drenced debut. Contains the blistering 10 minute number "As the Years go Passing By".

Otis Spann - Complete Blue Horizon Sessions. Dble CD. Otis Spann was one of the true blues pianists of ourtime, his delivery, timing and sense of mood werequite awesome. As a featured performer, fronting hisown band, his blues drenched, husky vocals andinspiring piano virtuosity puts him at the top of hisleague.This 2CD remastered collection features the complete recordings during his time with The Blue Horizon label including several rare alternative takes (including false starts) which were taken form the originalmultitracks and remixed especially for this release. Accompanied by another set of informative linernotes, written by Mike Vernon, this CD set will compliment the other titles already available in TheBlue Horizon reissue series.
