A compilation of garage beat and R 'n' B stompers that was first issued on vinyl back in 1966. Original copies now change hands for over $200. If it's collectables you're after, this includes cuts by Night Walkers, Del Prixs, Amoebas, Rysing Suns, Vendors, Beggars, Joey Charles and more.

Blue Sandlewood Soap - Loring Park Love In's. CD. (Get Hip - GHAS5006CD) Classic recordings from 1967 that contains the acid fried classic "Friends I Haven't met yet" along with "Love Pirt" which set's an acid trip to music. Magical use of the Farfisa organ on this lost psychedelic album. Highly recommended stuff.

Donovans Brain - Carelessly Restored Art. CD. (Get Hip - GH 1069) The debut album by this cult US neo psych head. A weird mixture of Byrds/Floyd/Beatles all thrown together in an LSD damaged tumble a bit like Olivia Tremor Control.... recommended!

Donovans Brain - Eclipse And Debris. CD. (Get Hip - GH-1080-CD) Second album of wiggy psych with a wasted Syd vibe. Quirky songs mingle with weird extended tracks that have a kind of Garage Floyd sensibility about them....

Green Pajamas - Indian Winter. CD. (Get Hip - GH 1059) At last a comp of all the rare singles and early/unreleased material by this ace introspective and fragile neo-psych band from the USA. With full sleeve notes and 15 tracks of pure genius.... Essential!

Priests - Tall Tales. CD. (Get Hip - GH1127) Rochester, NY garage-rock w/a dark Cramps-meets-Cynics vibe from 2004!,These four diseased souls telling tall-tales of sex, sorrow and salvation through sin as a rite of passage for the troubled teens of yesterday and today. No answers, no hope, no message of love or unity will be found within the cryptic writings of the Priests' sermon of self-worship which is made all the more sanctified by the driving force of the music, created from tradional wooden instruments but played as if it were strangled, raped and left for dead on the highway in some B-movie trailer clip at a drive-in from 1960-something. Theses are bad seeds. They are a negative breed of spite, jealousy, hatred and isolation.

Resonars - Bright And Dark. CD. (Get Hip - GH-1081CD) US band (1999) who take equal doses of the Byrds, The Hollies and Moby Grape to produce a powerful psych pop sound loaded with multi-layered harmonies and ringing guitar work. Nice psych cover art.... A good album…
